Art in Chicago
(offered most semesters) Course DescriptionExplore the exciting art world of Chicago. Study artwork in person, get some exercise, and earn up to three credits! Gain an introduction to navigating our vast local art resources, experience contemporary art, research the art of non-western cultures, and create a public art blog. Travel through the city on the Chicago Architecture River Cruise. Visit the Art Institute of Chicago, the Museum of Contemporary Art, the Museum of Contemporary Photography, and other art spaces throughout the city.
Be prepared to walk several hours each day. Access to a cell phone with internet service and camera is highly recommended for this course. All students must enroll in ART1823 (1 credit) or ART1100 (3 credits). |
Fee: $420 for 3 credits; $140 for 1 credit; plus $97 for course fee. Students will need to buy their own Metra/CTA tickets. |
