Course DescriptionDrawing Inspiration from Chicago: Explore and gain inspiration from the great museums, art galleries, architecture and landscape of Chicago while continuing to build your drawing skills. This class builds on and refines the experiences of observational drawing in Drawing I, focusing on a variety of traditional and non-traditional media. Learn through hands-on experiences, keeping a sketchbook/journal, and projects worked on both in the field and independently at home. Visit the Art Institute of Chicago, Museum of Contemporary Art, local Chicago galleries, Poetry Foundation, a Chicago Architecture River Cruise, Garfield Park Conservatory and local Chicago artists' studios. Be prepared to walk several hours each day. Access to a cell phone with internet service and camera is highly recommended for this course.
